Carolina Biological Supply Company began in 1927 when Thomas E. Powell, Jr., an Elon College professor who collected natural specimens for his class, discovered that he could sell surplus items to other teachers and professors. Dr. Powell soon realized that a team approach, with his company providing the centralized collection and distribution of educational materials, would free teachers to make better use of their time in the classroom and laboratory.

From the beginning, Carolina has been dedicated to this team approach. Carolina's staffmembers, many of whom are former educators, work to understand the unique needs and difficulties of teachers in the classroom and science lab. Carolina's staff often works with teachers to develop and distribute new products that fill their needs.

Carolina has formed just such a team with the National Science Resources Center to bring schools the Science and Technology for Children (STC) program. Developed and tested by teachers, STC is an inquiry-centered elementary curriculum that involves students in hands-on learning. Wisconsin Fast Plants Teaching Materials is another example of how the team approach benefits you.

Carolina not only brings you innovative products, we also bring you unmatched customer service and speedy delivery. And every product is backed by Carolina's 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you're not satisfied with your purchase, return it for replacement, refund, or credit. It's that simple.
